It's July ! ! !

Time to break out my red, white and blue quilts and decorations.

I made this quilt back in October of 2009 as part of the Year of Schnibbles sew along hosted by Sinta at Pink Pincushion and Sherri at A Quilting Life. As a matter of fact, Sherri and Sinta are having a Le Petite parade today, stop over, you won't want to miss all the great Ric Racs and Recesses that will be on display. Every month I say I'm going to join in, but this year I've just been watching the parade, not participating in the parade, but it's one of my favorite blogging events.

Anyway, I made this quilt in 2009 and "Thelmasized" it. I made the blocks bigger and added more of them. When I finished my quilt my goal was to get it quilted, buy a red comforter, and have that quilt set right in the middle of my bed for the whole month of July. Well last July my quilt was ready but I hadn't gotten around to the buying the red comforter, so this quilt was on the back of the red couch. Well I finally got that red comforter and am so happy to have this quilt right where I pictured it when I was piecing it.

The pattern was Cindy Lou Who by Carrie Nelson for Miss Rosie's Quilt Company.

I named mine One Star Two Star, Red Star Blue Star. It's Lifetime Quilt Number 52. That's been one of the surprises I've found with sew alongs, I make a project that really isn't on my radar, but end up just loving it and glad to have made it.

Next week I'm going to participate in a 4th of July Firework Blog Hop. Just me and a few other bloggers doing a little something with a 4th of July theme. It should be fun, I'm looking forward to what everyone else is doing and am sure I'll come up with something by the time my turn rolls around.

Here's the schedule:
Monday - July 4th - Monique - Open Gate
Tuesday - July 5th - Lisa - Stashmaster and Sherri - This & That
Wednesday - July 6th - Lisa - Sweetwater
Thursday - July 7th - Denise - Quilters Window & Sherri - A Quilting Life
Friday - July 8th - Me, Right Here!

  8. I love this quilt! It looks fantastic in your bedroom on that red comforter. Just the perfect match. I'm working on a patriotic quilt this week, too, and hope to use it as a tablecloth on the 4th with a bunch of my friends! Lots of work to do between now and then, LOL.
