National Pink Day . . .

Did you know you were supposed to sew something pink today?  I love pink, I wear pink a lot, my running shoes are most always pink, my phone has a pink polkadot cover, if there was ever a day for me, it would be today.  (well this day and that national cupcake day!)  Maybe today would be the perfect day to start on my sewing machine cover, I plan to throw some pink in it!  At a minimum, I'll make a few pink yo-yos to go with my red ones.  Any reason to turn a ho hum normal day into a let's have a little pink fun day fits right in with my Summer of Fun program.

If I could I would sew on this adorable pink sewing machine.

But it's a charm the size of a quarter, so I'll guess I'll have to settle for wearing it on a bracelet, today!
(Isn't it perfect that it uses red thread!)

Do you have anything pink you can sew today?

  1. Such a great way to start my day by reading your cheerful post about pink! I will do my best to incorporate a little pink in my day...this from a lady whose closet is filled with black, white, and grey! But I did buy a raspberry and chocolate fat quarter yesterday...perhaps that will be my inspiration!

  3. I am sewing on pink today! In my latest piecing project it has lots of pink. You should make a quilt with cupcakes and daisies with pink :)

  4. No sewing for me today. I'm in full cake decorating mode. Today is my soon-to-be Daughter-in-Law's wedding shower. Cake decorating is another one of my passions. There will be a few pink flowers on the cake, does that count? Love your charm! I'm looking for a charm for my charm bracelet that is a sewing machine but haven't found one that I'm truly in love with yet. Have a great day sewing!!

  6. I love pink too, Thelma. In fact, when I sort laundry, I have one large pile of pink and one small pile of everything else. Love the little sewing machine.

  11. I wish I could do some sewing today. I can even find something to sew on since we moved which is no small miracle. My sister is visiting from California and she is such a non-sewer that I don't even dare get the sewing machine out. Maybe I'll go get pink ice cream after dinner.

  12. I'm going to make that sewing machine cover, too. I hadn't thought about fabric choices yet but I love pink so maybe I'll plan my cover around it!

  14. Well, Thelma, Life does get in the way - I'm just getting back since our chat about your Evening Bloom quilt. It turned out beautiful and I like the switching up of the blocks. It was I think the only Blackbird book I did not own - so naturally I'm blaming it all on you - I got it!! Did you make your little pin cushion? I have been all through the photos of your quilts and I am in awe. I suppose if I were up to date or took some photos, I'd be surprised at how many I have also - lots are long gone to other peeps though. Thank you for sharing so much - I've enjoyed my visit here!! Smooch!!

  15. Yes, I did sew with pink today! I'm working on a quilted tote bag for my cousin who just became a grandma, so her bag has lots of pinks and blues in it! Turning out quite nicely.

That is truly an adorable charm.
