On the road . . . .

I'm a huge fan of Paula Barnes of Red Crinoline Quilts, formerly known as Bonnie Blue Quilts.

I've made two of her quilts, Lifetime Quilt Number 73, James River Blues and Number 66, Belle Meade.

I also have several of her patterns on my To Do list.


This week I'm going to meet Paula Barnes and take a couple of her classes.  I almost feel like I know her already, even though I wouldn't recognize her on site.  I'm looking forward to a wonderfully fun experience.


My sewing machine is too big for the overhead bins of a plane so I'll be checking my baby!  Keep your fingers crossed we both make it back home in one piece!

    You need to show how you cushion your machine in that space age thing. Hope you are having fun! Looking forward to the pictures!

    I'm a huge fan as well. You'll have a great time! She's so sweet, brings the best quilts to share and is a great teacher. Always learn some new tip with her around. Enjoy!!!

    Oh, I love Paula Barnes. I want at least five of her patterns. Have a great time!!! You're brave to pack your suitcase...I saw on Bonnie Hunters blog that the airline busted her machine (and her laptop)...pack yours well.

    When you fly with your machine and you have to check it in, do you put packing around it inside the case? I've never had the courage to fly with mine but maybe it would be alright. Can't wait to see what you make!

    Wow what a great opportunity. I hope your machine makes it there fine. I read about Bonnie Hunter and her experience with checking her machine. It was not pretty :-(
