This quilt is absolutely stunning!! I agree, you could make nothing but log cabin quilt variations and not get bored for a long time, if ever. I really need to get the Judy Martin book. I have had it on my list forever. I just keep spending all my stash money on fabric instead LOL.Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11264008817537561201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1282341523536457596.post-2749104617957767732010-02-07T19:31:55.317-06:002010-02-07T19:31:55.317-06:00Darn, I found this too late. I have this thing about my own space. I call it my personal bubble and whoa be the person who invades it. Now I am a teacher and it doesn't bother me when the kids get in my bubble, but adults are a different story. I've been known to slap a hand away that has gotten too close. LOL All my friends know my quirkiness and are always waiting for the unsuspecting stranger to invade my space. Watch out, I go nuts!!!!
Anyway, that is a little quirkiness about me. Maybe I'll be able to win another one of your giveaways! I am participating in the OWOH blogging event so why don't you hop over to my blog for a chance to win. http://quiltqueen-kathy.blogspot.com It is going on until Feb. 14. I was trying to think of my quirks, with the help of my best friend, who by the way is a great fan of yours. I'm sure I have many quirks, but one that stands out is that I like to park in the same spot at work. If my spot is gone, which isn't often, it's a bit frustrating since it's not even close to the entrance of the building. I always park in the same general area of my local grocery store, or large stores such as Walmart, the Mall, etc... If a spot isn't available I'll drive around the same area until one is available. I don't care how far it is from the entrance, as long as it's in the lane that I like.
JoAnnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1282341523536457596.post-52041739637830651332010-02-06T09:21:42.863-06:002010-02-06T09:21:42.863-06:00Thelma, your quilts are just gorgeous and I would ...Thelma, your quilts are just gorgeous and I would really like to have one... The quirky thing about me is that I live with a small parrot "LuLu" (I am a widow) and I seem to allow this little bird to run my life. She screams at me, bosses me around and if she sees me put one bite of food in my mouth well she is there saying "Was it good?" over and over again. I get no piece at all in my own home. I thought that I needed a little company after the death of my husband but never guessed that this little bird would now run the house. She is a real pistol. And she loves Quilts -- she has a special one that we play on and she likes to get underneath and holler "Pick-A-Boo"... could we please win your quilt!! I'll swap you the quilt for the bird!!!!!!!!!! Winning one of your quilts would be like winning Lotto LOL! My quirky thing happened about 20 years ago. Before moving to southeastern Illinois four years ago. I lived in a suburb of Chicago and was a busy girl working long hours and not much time to sew. I loved quilts and always wanted to own one. I saw an ad in our local paper of a quilt show. I eagerly awaited that Saturday and off I went to the quilt show, armed with my checkbook. When I got there the lady said "that will be $5 for the entrance fee" I said to her "why would you have to pay to go in to "buy" a quilt. She kindly smiled and said "you don't buy the quilts, you admire them." I left, sadly with no quilt! After moving down here, the first thing I did was to join our church and then a quilt guild. Now I eagerly await the start of the spring quilt shows to admire these works of art. I learned to quilt through the friendships I've made at the guild and workshops I've attended. Now I've made several baby quilts and wall hangings. Still haven't made one large enough for our bed - but I know I will someday. Thanks for your blog and congratulations on your 100th! I go to it everyday to be inspired.Barbnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1282341523536457596.post-6437428890958377552010-02-06T07:18:26.593-06:002010-02-06T07:18:26.593-06:00Happy Blogiversary!
