This weekend we traveled 100 miles south to celebrate Christmas with family. One of my quilting goals for 2009 was to give quilts to family members for Christmas.
Here they are, stacked and read to be wrapped. You've seen most of them before,
Quasi Jellystone, Quilt # 49, for my niece,
Kara's Jungle, Quilt #44, for my other niece.
"Under the Stars", Quilt #40 , for my baby brother and his wife.

I made this from the Eleanor Burns, Quilt in a Day Flying Geese book.
It took longer than a day. This is Quilt # 21
Each goose is individually quilted as is the flower border.
This went to my other big brother and his wife.
(he has a red couch too, it must be in our blood)
Here they are, all wrapped and ready to go, they are all sleeping in their new homes tonight.
How about a few more Christmas Village decorations.....here's a little country vignette I have set up in the family room.
I would like to live in this town. Tractors in the Christmas parade.
Country dances in a barn, red pickup trucks with trees.....
a dairy barn with Christmas wreaths..... Who wouldn't like this town?
Plus here's the best spot of all, a store that sells pies and quilts!! Have I ever mentioned pie is my favorite food, pizza pie, chicken pot pie, cherry pie, coconut cream pie..I just love pie. Who wouldn't want to live in a town with a quilt/pie shop!!
I'd move there in a heartbeat! What beautiful gifts you've given your family. They will be keepsakes for sure.

ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful quilts you gave to your family - I love the one with the names on the snowmen's hats. And had to chuckle at your flying geese that took "more than a day." Hey, I'd love to find that pie and quilt shop, too. Cute house!

ReplyDeleteThe Jellystone quilt is darling. Thanks for another look at it. When you posted about it the first time, I kept going back to look some more. I have a pile of plaids I have been collecting for years and I think that would be such a cute quilt to use them in.
