It's Wednesday!

Nantucket is home from the quilter.  I pieced Nantucket with a few blogging friends last November, and now it's done and back home.


Connie Lancaster at Quilts Plus in Indianapolis, IN quilted this one for me.




I love he feathers in the big stars.



The border is just as amazing.  See that little quilted start in the plain carmel square.   Those are randomly placed in the border just like my pieced stars.


I was so happy with this quilt it went from the box to the red couch.


I'm going to have a Hook for the parade, how about you?



I'm using Little Black Dress 2 by BasicGrey for Moda.   I'm making my spinning stars a little bigger.  I cut my strips 6 inches wide which is producing a block about twice as big as the block in the pattern.  My favorite thing, that Grunge background! It really warms up the prints.  More about Hook next time. I hope you're planning on being in the parade!

    Love the way Connie quilted Nantucket! It is a quilt I want to make. Your Hook quilt is looking great. I have my Hook quilt together. Wish I had thought to enlarge the blocks. I found getting those points to match was a challenge! Did you find that a challenge or do you have a special way for matching them? Now I have to decide how I will quilt it.

    I've noticed you use many different quilters. How do you find them and more importantly how do you decide to release your gorgeous quilts to them for quilting? Do you tell them how you would like your quilt stitched or do you leave it to their imagination (scary thought if it's a new quilter you haven't used before). I'd love to know your process for this. Thanks.

    funny I made a hook table runner and I used black and white I had leftover strips from a hounds tooth baby quilt ill post it later

    Love the quilting on your Nantucket ! I just prepared the backing for my Nantucket so that I can send it to my quilter :-D I have the Little Black dress 2 fabric and I really like this fabric in your " HOOK " quilt and I like how you made yours a larger size. SO what size is your finished block ? I need to go and check out the grunge fabric ;-)

    I love your Nantucket quilt every time I see it done I love it more. I also am doing the Hook quilt for the parade and it is such a fun quilt to make, I wanted to do it again but wanted one bigger for a summer lap quilt I will have to try your idea that should make it just about right.

    Nantucket is gorgeous and is perfect for your couch. It doesn't seem like four months ago when you finished it. Time flies! No Hook for me this month, though I really thought I could fit it in. Too much hockey! :-)

    Very nice "Nantucket" quilt and love it just as much as when you were working on it. Nice finish and another one to display. My "Hook" is coming along and should have done by the parade....I hope!

    Oh Goodness Thelma! It was Wednesday but now it is Friday which means that I haven't check into blogland since TUESDAY! Errrr. I love your quilt and I absolutely adore your red couch! No, I'm not HOOKing ... still working on a backlog of projects and starting new SMALL projects.

    Your Nantucket is great. I have mine kitted up to do but I keep finding other new things to start.

    I didn't know Quilts Plus did quilting....I'll be stopping in the shop when I am in Indiana in May! I love that shop.
