Best for Last?

I think I've pieced all the quilt tops I can manage out of the Gingiber Merrily and Merriment lines.  This makes the 7th finish using that fabric, a record for any fabric I've ever worked with.

But I do like this finish and think I may keep this one.  My inspiration was the Fig Tree pattern Stars in the Woodland.  I made mine just a little bigger, because I had so many animal panels in my stash,  and I added the red and white squares, because you know me and red and white,.

This is Lifetime Quilt Number 297
The pattern is Stars and Animals in the Woodland by Fig Tree and Thelma
It finished at 48"x 55"
The fabric is Merrily and Merriment by Gingiber for Moda
It has approximately 888 pieces

Here are the other quilt tops I made using this fabric

Lifetime Quilt Number 210 - Merrily - Library Raffle Quilt

Lifetime Quilt Number 232 - More Merrily - gift for great nephew

Lifetime Quilt Number 221- Merrily - gift for niece

Lifetime Quilt Number 211 - Tucker's Merrily Christmas - grandpup's quilt

Lifetime Quilt Number 294 - Wooded Whimsy

Lifetime Quilt Number 296 -Starry Eyed II

Now on to something that's not Gingiber fabric!!

  1. I love how you can take a quilt pattern and then make it your own. I don't have that vision and often wish that I did. They are all beautiful, Thelma!

  2. Wonderful entry, Thelma. Did you buy all the fabric at once? Or did you add to what you had left after making quilts with it? I have never purchased a whole line of a designer’s fabric, mainly because I have so much fabric already! I think it would be wonderful fun to work with a whole collection. Carol in Texas

  3. It is pretty amazing that you got all these quilts out of two fabric lines. When you see a fat quarter bundle, it doesn't look like much fabric but there is actually a lot there. I hope something fun and cheerful grabs your interest for your next project. Maybe some 3" blocks?

  4. I just love seeing what you do with different fabric lines. I do the same thing, buy extra of fabric I love, then make 2 or 3 differnt quilt patterns with the same basic fabrics. Right at the moment it is a wonderful blue hydrangea fabric working with grunge to go with all of the various colors in the fabric.

  6. Well this is just so dang cute and what a great way to finish up a bundle of fabrics. How creative to manage to get all those quilts and so different from each other. I think you saved the best for last and smart idea to save this one....need to have something to show for all that creative work and you will have fond memories I bet.

  8. Oh my, Thelma! Such a gorgeous array of quilts with these fabrics. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite but your Lifetime Quilt 221, Merrily, really speaks to me. How thrilled your niece must be!!
