This is the fifth year I've pieced a top to be raffled by my hometown library. The library works hard on this raffle, displaying the quilt at local banks and grocery stores to generate interest and sell tickets. When I decide on a project for the library's quilt I like to pick a pattern and colors that will have mass appeal and more importantly, won't break my heart if it ends up in the back of a pickup truck as a dog bed, lol. Some people buy tickets because they like the quilt, some buy tickets just to support the library, I just never know what type of quilt owner will be the lucky winner.
Social media is also a big help on selecting a pattern, if a quilt is popular online it will probably be popular in my hometown. Last year I went with a Fig Tree block of the month, it was a huge hit. This year I selected Sweet Escape.

The pattern is Sweet Escape by Camille Roskelley for Thimbleblossoms
It finished at 80: x 80"
The fabric is an assortment of fabric by Bonnie and Camille for Moda
It has approximately 1,216 pieces.
The log cabin blocks finish at 10" and were a breeze to piece.
Abby at Latimer Lane Quilting has already finished quilting this top, we went with a Baptist Fan pattern and I'm happy with the look. For the binding I parted with the multicolored flag design from Happy Go Lucky, one of my favorite family of fabrics.
Fingers crossed this quilt raises a nice little sum for a well run and used library with a small budget.
