Patchwork Party 2007 - Part Two . . .

This is the second quilt I made from the Patchwork Party Fall 2007 sampler blocks. It is called "Clara's Enchanted Nutcracker Dance Quilt" and it's by Bittersweet Blessings.

This quilt is 66 x 66...a little more than half the size of this one.
Don't the twelve sampler blocks looks so different in each setting?

I couldn't pick a favorite, so I did both.

The quilter quilted these tops one right after the other, and she did an amazing job on both. She also tried to quilt the blocks as similarly as possible. The borders do have the exact same quilt pattern.
I like this spinning whirlygig quilt pattern thing.

Here's a close-up of the center. This top has just a little applique going on, just enough for me to be able to do it!
This is the back. This is quilt #30.

The large quilt will go on my bed after the holidays, (I have a Christmas Quilt that I use during the month of December) and the smaller quilt will hang on the wall beside it.

  1. I love having a quilt just for Christmas. My husband would like to use our Christmas quilt all winter long, but it just doesn't seem right to me. I hope you'll show your Christmas quilt.

  2. I just read your post from yesterday and saw I was in the running for the seam ripper! Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. What a cute surprise to do it that way. I like that idea.

  3. I am amazed at how different those two quilts look, made from the same blocks. They are both gorgeous. In fact, I love the smaller one so much it makes me want to do a sampler - something I have never had the inclination for. Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday - I hope you like the lights I sent you for the swap!

  4. I'm not quite awake yet this morning but when I read that they were the same quilt in different settings, I stared at them for a long time. Both are absolutely stunning. Thanks so much for sharing these with us. I too would love to see your Christmas quilt. Have a wonderful weekend.

  5. I love this one too. I am glad you included the measurements because it is hard to tell in the picture. I would not have guessed the second one is half the size of the first. I LOVE the center of this quilt. I was just about to ask if it was paper pieced, then saw your comment about the applique. It is gorgeous. Wonderful rich fabrics. Are any of the blocks paper pieced? So much detail. Enjoy your weekend.

  7. You totally amaze me! Where do you get all this energy? Do you sew 24/7? :)
Both of these quilts are beautiful! It is amazing how they look so different. I have so many blocks of the month started I need to finish.
    Blessings
