So Monday I blogged about winning these adorable pumpkins, made by Brandie.
And even mentioned how I hoped no one actually used them....
even though I had them setting out, just begging for a messy glass, who would actually set anything on these lovely coasters....
There was one contingency that did not cross my mind . . .
"Hey you, YES YOU, come back here!!"
"I'll trade you a chewy for that pumpkin coaster ......."
Bribery works every time!! Except, Cooper's not allowed on the couch...I'll take what I can get!
I've moved those coasters to higher ground,
The only progress I've made in my sewing room is on my half square triangle units for Belle Meade. I'm getting up early and making a few while the house is quiet and before the menfolk are up.
Thanks for a good laugh! I got up early this morning for some quiet time. Rusty noticed I was gone so he has joined me. I'm covered in a quilt with my first cup of coffee and LOL all by myself. Great way to start my day! Cooper just knows a good thing when he sees it:) Have a wonderful Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how our pets seem to always take hold of the things we don't want them to have? Glad the pumpkins are safe now. Good luck with the 300 more HSTs.
ReplyDeleteCooper is so funny! And adorable!
ReplyDeleteI think he wanted to sit on the couch with a chewy all along. :)
Cooper is hilarious! Love it! You're making great progress on your HSTs. Over half done! I'd have like a hundred done...maybe.
ReplyDeleteMy Bailey takes off with things too - like my Farmer's Wife blocks. They think it's fun - I think it gives us heart failure. BTW, I had the same wallpaper in my kitchen at my old house as you have in what I think is yours. I still love it.
ReplyDeletehe he he...A good laugh to start my day off.
ReplyDeleteOzzie has destroyed every coaster I own. He especially favors the ones that have the cork bottoms.
ReplyDeleteI love how Cooper is holding the pumpkin by the stem, smart dog!
ReplyDeleteLol, too cute! What is it with animals and quilts?! Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteI bought the hst ruler you recommended yesterday. My friend also has one and loves it. So, I'm ready for a quilt with a lot of hsts. But I don't know about 656 of them...
ReplyDeleteOk i want both the coasters and the basket of French General! lol
ReplyDeleteI adore pumpkins, I'm going to have to see about making some of those!
How funny. And only 300 more to go! Your drive to complete 656 HSTs impresses me. I would have given up a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! Cooper is SO much better behaved that my critter, she would just wait until you're not looking, put her paws on the higher table and take them back! Something about "mine! mine! mine!"...
ReplyDeleteOnly 300 more to go? That's terrific progress ~ you'll be finished before you know it! Then the big HTS and you're just about done. I can't wait to see the finished quilt. :)
Ahhh, the old bribery trick, I've used it a few times myself, LOL. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteOMG! How cute was that! I am still LOL! I LOVE Cooper! (Glad you were able to bribe him. Those pumpkins are too cute to be destroyed!)
ReplyDeleteLOL Cooper sure knows how to get a treat! :-) Way to sew on the hst's! Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteI just love Cooper! YOur are almost half way on the half squares!!!woohoo
ReplyDeleteI love Cooper too! I wouldn't have thought to worry about that either! That basketful of hst's is looking good!
ReplyDeleteCooper is too funny! And darn smart...he knows what to do to get an extra treat during the day...LOL! Your Belle Meade HST's are coming along...CLAPPING!
ReplyDeleteThelma those are soooo cute!! Awww what a sweet dog. We live them inspite of their orneriness! It made me miss my German Shepherd that I had for 12 years though!
ReplyDeleteHa ha - Cooper is funny! I LOVE that couch by the way! The pumpkins look cute where you've placed them, and they should be Cooper-proof there! Just keep plugging away on those HSTs! I do the same thing when I have a project like that - a little bit at a time and before you know it, it's done!
ReplyDeleteOh Cooper! What a cutie! Don't you love dogs?! They keep you on your toes all the time! I've learned not to put anything that I want to keep nice within reach, especially with Tillie running around. Her mouth is on everything and she loves to chew!
