I'm joining the AP&Q It All Adds Up Quilt Along. This year the theme is plus quilts.
I started a plus quilt last year but got sidetracked and put it in a project box.
There are 4 different projects available and I was thinking perhaps I could convert my plus start from last year into this project, Plus Postage, designed by Susan Ache.
I've made two blocks. I enjoyed making them but am not sure it's the best use of my fabric, I think I can do better.
So I'm going to mull this around and either try Susan's pattern again with different fabric or maybe try a different pattern and different fabric. Stay tuned!
It's all fun.
You should quilt along too. I'm getting a late start, but my magazine didn't show up until last Friday. Check out Instagram for some great inspiration and amazing finishes.
First I love the quilt with the red pluses it's so beautiful! And your blocks look great, too, but I can understand your problems about them because I think this collections is quite calm and needs a bit colors (at least to me). Perhaps if you use low volume prints instead of the solid white?
ReplyDeleteI still love your original plus quilt try. Orange is my favorite color and I love how you used it with brown and pops of yellow. Still, I always look forward to following your creative process!
ReplyDeleteA plus quilt has been on my list for a long time. I'm very tempted...
ReplyDeleteThe colors in your original quilt are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI've made 2 plus quilts recently and just finished a Bonnie & Camille swap of plus blocks....I'm making those 24 blocks into 2 baby quilts for Ronald McDonald house.
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo....I was going to post on IG to see what fabrics everyone was using.....
I like the one in the magazine with the red crosses (naturally LOL) but I think I want something with more random colors for the plusses.
I can't start this project till after I finish my Tone It Down quilt, which is so far only 8 blocks and the other 12 will take some time....
I'll keep following your progress here and IG to see what you decide on.
Peggy in COLD COLD COLD NJ!
Your Red quilts are always stunning--it's your color. I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with, XOXO
