BOM Rehab, MoP

Here's Block 12, my final focus block for Memories of Provence.

I didn't change a thing.

And here are all the blocks!

I'm still deciding my setting blocks and hope to make more than one of those a week, otherwise this project won't be done until summer.  I would like to have this project on my 2012 Finished List.

Thanks Sinta for hosting your BOM Rehab, these blocks would just be chunks of fabric in a project box if it weren't for you.

500th Post Winners.
I drew the winners last week but waited until they made their fabric selections to blog about it.  I thought you would enjoy knowing what layer cakes they picked.  It sort of reminds me of that Top Sellers page at the Fat Quarter Shop that tells you what folks are buying.  Do you ever check it out, it's fascinates me. Anyway, without further ado . . .

Margaret, whose guilty pleasure is "reading fun books" selected a layer cake of Trails End by Holly Taylor for Moda.
Chris, Cats on my Quilts, whose guilty pleasure is Real Housewives and Say Yet to the Dress, selected Summersville by Lucie Summers for Moda.
And Brenda, Quilting Along Life's Way, whose guilty pleasure is chocolate and Lifetime movies, selected Lario by 3 Sisters for Moda.

Thanks again to everyone who stopped by my 500th post and left such warm and lovely comments.

  1. Your blocks look fabulous! Each one is so unique but still connected to the others.
It was interesting to see the diversity in the fabric choices of the winners!

  2. What an excellent idea this BOM Finish-a-Long has been - I wonder if you would have thought at this time last year that you would have this beautiful quilt all done by Christmas? The blocks are all fabulous and I'm sure you will find the perfect setting - some are have a lot more neutral in so I guess you are going to space out the colour-heavy ones with the more neutral ones. Can't wait to see the final layout!

  4. I love the quilt blocks--they're reminding me of looking through a kaleidoscope. Can't wait to see the borders that will set them off, XOXO

  5. i followed the layer cake links, starting at the bottom and working my way up - meh. okay. oooooh!!! Trail's End is waaaaay cool!!!

i like your blocks all together - they DO look quite kaleidoscopic ... and i have a hard time not picking up kaleidoscopes, and then not wanting to put them back down ... i didn't look twice at the Memories of Provence BOM when it came out because i don't like its name and, together, red and green are not my favorite colors - but those are really, really lovely blocks and you are gonna have another gorgeous quilt!

  9. I am not sure I had a chance to comment on your 500th blog post, but what a momentous occasion. Congratulations! Must mention that I love your blog, it's very enjoyable. Your new quilt, as usual, is lovely. Monique will be very proud. I was interested in your comments about Hubble. I thought I was having a hard time with the directions, was glad to see that someone else saw through the mystery. Thanks. Stephani in N. TX (tomazec@aol.com)

  11. I like the blocks. I chuckled when you said you didn't change the last one any bit. Love it. That means it's the perfect ending to some beautiful perfect blocks!

  13. I am working on block #10 right now and will pick up #11 this weekend so I'm right behind you. I like the way all your center motifs are different, all of mine are the same and it's a big fabric waster which I just hate but it looks OK. I've changed the backgrounds on each of my squares, I'm not sure if it makes all that much difference to the finished product but I just didn't like the background fabric they gave us in the kits. I'm catching up to you Thelma now on to those sashing squares!
