This is Lifetime Quilt #41, Thelma's Flower Garden. I got it back from my quilter months ago, put it in the closet, and forgot all about it.
Today I was getting out some of my spring decorations and I remembered this quilt, it sure says spring to me.
This is the pattern I used, Hip to Bee Square, by Humble Bee Quilt Works. If you've been looking for a great pattern to showcase a large print fabric, this pattern is for you.
For the quilting, I just went with an overall swirly pattern. I wanted it to feel like a bee was buzzing around the quilt top, going from flower to flower.
My red couch usually plays nicely with any quilt I display on it.
That's a lot of color on that sofa. Maybe a little too loud for me, but I'm keeping the quilt there through the weekend. It's the only thing blooming around my house!
I hope you have a marvelous weekend,
from beginning . . .
to end.
Pretty quilt...spring right inside your house...Perfect! Have a fantastic weekend! Love the mug!
ReplyDeleteIt is a very pretty quilt. Happy Easter to you too Thelma.
ReplyDeletePretty quilt -- and the red couch is to die for!! :-D Years ago when I painted my dining room a deep, rich country red (Vesuvian Garnet was the chip name! :-D), my mother said it looked like the walls were bleeding! LOL It's her (and my!) favorite room. Your red couch would look great in my house! :-D (along with a lovely quilt or two you've made draped over it!)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Mary Lou

ReplyDeleteThelma, I adore beautiful bright colors, in anything, and this quilt has it all! It is truly breath taking. Such glorious fabric! It looks perfect on your red couch. Since we are still having rain and some snow here in Northern Utah, I think when I drop by each day I'll take a minute to look at your "Burst of Color", it will remind me that we WILL start seeing some signs of Spring here, eventually. That adorable bunny mug completely stole my heart! Thanks for a breath of spring and a morning smile! Hugs...

ReplyDeleteAfter 3 years on the grey Oregon coast, I'm beginning to appreciate true, bright colors!! I too, have a red couch - usually with scrap quilts laying on it or covering me while I lay on it! Red - the new neutral!!
