Spring is in the air

I'm going to town on my Carolina Lily block flowers.  I like watching them bloom and grow on my design wall.

Sherri and Sinta have revealed this month's Schnibbles sew along project, Hat Trick!

Count me in, this little quilt finishes at 26" x 32", a perfect table topper size, at least for my table.

I've been itching to make some sort of spring project for weeks, I'm thinking of going with one background fabric for the whole project, this fabric.

And I'm thinking of just sticking with some green and pink fabric for my 9 patch blocks, something that I"ll put on my table that screams spring and will perk me up this time next year, when it seems like spring is never going to arrive.  It will probably perk me up this year too, just working on it.

  1. I just love your progress... Can't wait to start mine... The applique really scares me. I love the idea of doing it on the sewing machine.

  4. Thelma, that's one of the perks of quilting. We get to rush the season whenever needed. When I can get to a quilt shop in Feb., inevitably I buy fabric for a Spring quilt in order to push away the Winter doldrums. In August the heat here is just about intolerable and we are landlocked, so Fall and Christmas fabrics give me a preview of cooler weather. Your Carolina Lillies will be another lovely quilt. Haven't sewed any Schnibbles but I love the parades to see what people create. Am glad Schnibbles are back, thanks Sherri, thanks Sinta. Stephani in N. TX (Tomazec@aol.com)

  10. Your color combo DOES scream Spring. I like it and I can't wait to see it. I made Hat Trick a while ago. Out of Sweetwater's fabric line with yellow, orange, gray and pink. The name escapes me now.
