Let's Go - Some Sneaky Sewing

Do you remember when I made my Due South quilt earlier this year?

It was a Miss Rosie quilt pattern that had been on my to do list for ages.    I loved the Rifle Paper Co map print fabric that I used, but was a little sad at how much of the personality of the fabric that was lost when I cut it into little pieces for those stars.

When my daughter commented that she also loved that map print I thought it was a great chance to work with that fabric again, and maybe do a better job at putting the focus on each city's cute drawings.

So I started with a simple black and white theme for the center blocks,

then added some color.

This is Lifetime Quilt Number 212
I've named it Let's Go - because the quilt was a Christmas gift for my daughter and she's my travel partner, and I'm always ready to go anywhere when she's available.
The pattern is Village Square by Melissa Corry
It finished at 77" x77"
The fabric is Rifle Paper Co and Cotton and Steel
It has approximately 596 pieces.

I finished the quilt earlier this year but didn't post on social media because it was a surprise gift for my daughter.  She loved the top and I think she'll love it more once it's quilted and at her house for good.

  1. What a wonderful idea for someone who enjoys travel and this couldn't be better. I really like that you put the color around it and makes for a "maze" of travel to the next block. So, have you two picked a new spot to go????

  2. Love your quilt it's beautiful!

  3. mother/daughter quilts are da bomb ... melissa was supposed to get her thistle quilt for her birthday/Baby Jesus birthday, but it's still in Michigan, waiting for quilting - so i gave her tickets to Aladdin instead - downtown Denver is as far away as i can manage this turn 'round the sun

  4. Great quilt and I bet your daughter loves it!

I try to respond to all my comments but sometimes I just don't get the job done. Please know that I am reading your comments and appreciate you taking the time to add a little of yourself to my blog.
