Did you buy any of the Moda Color Cuts bundles? They were a very clever idea, one color way of fabric comprised of different Moda designers.
My first project was this aglow pattern by Modernly Morgan.
Search Aglow quilt online or Instagram to see some amazing versions of this pattern.
This is Lifetime Quilt #288.
I've named it Socially Distanced Aglow.
The pattern is Aglow by Modernly Morgan click here.
It finished at 58" x 58", this pattern has several size options.
The fabric is all Moda, from their Color Cuts collection.
It has approximately 890 pieces.
I named it Socially Distanced Aglow because I decided add some sashing for space and stars for fun.
This pattern didn't use up much of my yellow and grey color cuts, I didn't get to use some pieces at all, so I decided to keep playing with the yellow and grey fabric and started piecing 7" sampler blocks.
I went with 7" because I have some 6" sampler block quilts and wanted a change, plus a math challenge.
It took some time to get to 25 blocks, which I thought was just enough.
This is Lifetime Quilt # 289.
I've named it Yellow and Grey 7" Block Sampler.
There's no pattern, I just made some of my favorite blocks from past projects.
The fabric is all Moda, from their Color Cuts collection.
It finished at 51'"X 51".
It has approximately 912 pieces.
So I've gotten my fill of yellow and grey fabric, next up, something that feels like Fall, Cider!
Both are beautiful as usual, Thelma!
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous. I think the gray/yellow is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts. Love the color combination.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty.
ReplyDeleteA pair of beauties, Thelma! I love your addition of the sashing strips and smaller stars in your version of Aglow.
ReplyDeleteA great showing of "Grey & Yellow" and think both quilts make such a nice quilt statement and a bit different from each other. That 7inch block quilt probably was a nice challenge and leave it to you to come up with a new Quilt Sampler that am sure quilters will want the pattern for....love them !!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved yellow and grey together.... but that Block Sampler is just outstanding! Love it!
ReplyDeleteFantastic. You are so creative and industrious.
ReplyDeleteYou must have sewing mojo back, that's good for us viewers. I like both quilts and I especially like your name for #288!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty quilt! Looks great as the yellow really makes it pop!
