Yellow and Grey Color Cuts Play - Two Finishes

Did you buy any of the Moda Color Cuts bundles?   They were a very clever idea, one color way of fabric comprised of different Moda designers.

It was an easy way to get a scrappy look from one color.  I think there may have been a couple seasons worth of these precuts, I only nabbed the first set.  I've been playing with these grey and yellow fabric strips for months and enjoying every minute.

My first project was this aglow pattern by Modernly Morgan.

Search Aglow quilt online or Instagram to see some amazing versions of this pattern.

This is Lifetime Quilt #288.
I've named it Socially Distanced Aglow.
The pattern is Aglow by Modernly Morgan click here.
It finished at 58" x 58", this pattern has several size options.
The fabric is all Moda, from their Color Cuts collection.
It has approximately 890 pieces.

I named it Socially Distanced Aglow because I decided add some sashing for space and stars for fun.

This pattern didn't use up much of my yellow and grey color cuts, I didn't get to use some pieces at all, so I decided to keep playing with the yellow and grey fabric and started piecing 7" sampler blocks.

I went with 7" because I have some 6" sampler block quilts and wanted a change, plus a math challenge.

It took some time to get to 25 blocks, which I thought was just enough.

This is Lifetime Quilt # 289.
I've named it Yellow and Grey 7" Block Sampler.
There's no pattern, I just made some of my favorite blocks from past projects.
The fabric is all Moda, from their Color Cuts collection.
It finished at 51'"X 51".
It has approximately 912 pieces.

So I've gotten my fill of yellow and grey fabric, next up, something that feels like Fall, Cider!

Dessert Sampler Finish

One of my quilt bucket list items is to piece a quilt top using nothing but solids, make that more than two solids, since I do have a few red and white quilts.

Last year a friend selected this beautiful group of Moda Bella Solids for me as a YoT birthday present.  That was the hardest part of piecing a solids quilt, selecting a pleasing assortment of solids, and I didn't even have to do it.

I love a good sampler pattern and decided Moda's Dessert Sampler Quilt pattern was a good fit for my solids bundle.

I replaced a few blocks with some of my own and rearranged the placement of a few others, but I think is still looks very similar to the original.

This is Lifetime Quilt Number 233
The pattern is Dessert Sampler Quilt by Moda
The fabric is all Moda Bella Solids
It finished at 70" x 78"
It has approximately 2,082 pieces.

Next up, I need to whip up about 3 Christmas tops, Christmas in September, doesn't quite have a motivational ring to it, but thinking about giving the quilts for Christmas presents is motivation enough.
