All Done!
Even though I added more blocks, even though I wasn't sure of my focus fabric choice, and even though it seemed like I was working on this quilt forever, it's done and I like it! All that whining for nothing, thanks for bearing it!
This is The Long Road Home.
It is Lifetime Quilt Number 95.
It finished at 70" x 77".
It has approximately 1,682 pieces.
The main fabric is Civil War Reunion by Barbara Brackman for Moda.
The pattern is by Red Crinoline Quilts.
I've already started playing around with my blocks for 1904, my next project, stop by tomorrow for an update. Nicole has started her 1904 and has a stack of lovely fall star blocks done, check it out here.
One of my favorite things is seeing the same pattern made up with different fabric. Jayne at Jayne's Quilting Room, finished her Long Road Home last year.
She went super scrappy and totally changed the look of the pattern.
I like it!
This quilt is so lovely for the Fall, Thelma. I love the effect of the neutrals casting light and shade. It's amazing how different it looks in the scrappy fabrics - I love Jayne's version too.
ReplyDeleteOH thelma I really love this quilt, you have inspired me to make as soon as i finish the projects I am working on now, ok I may have to make a few blocks inbetween :)
ReplyDeleteKathie
I hope you show the Crazy piecing method that Nicole mentions in her post!
ReplyDeleteJayne's quilt has a completely different look. It's just as great as yours but completely different. Fabric choices really offer us so many options!
Just stunning Thelma! Absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteTruly marvelous!
ReplyDeleteSo soothing. I really like it. You are zipping along with your quilts. You'll be on #100 before you know it!
ReplyDeleteThis one is a beauty - love it. Might have to add it to my must do list. :-)
ReplyDeleteThelma, it is beautiful! Congrats on the finish.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on another great finish. It's a beautiful quilt. You never cease to amaze me Thelma.
ReplyDeleteI love this so much! You make everything look so easy, when I know it is so much work.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty, it seems to sparkle!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous Thelma ! Congrats on another great finish !
ReplyDeleteYou did it!! Yaaaaaa! I don't blame you at all for the whining, as I did a fair amount of it myself as I worked on those seemingly never-ending framed 9-patches -- yowza, they took forever! I do love the look of the quilt with the setting blocks all done in off-white; I however, am committed to using from the stash, so I opted for my more colorful version. I like it, too, and that's what counts! Congratulations on your finish!!
ReplyDeleteGood grief you're fast! How do you do it! haha!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt with beautiful fabrics!
Perfect!! You are fast...and awesome!!
ReplyDeleteHey, I just posted a blog in which I shout out your shout out! lol! Just wanted to let you know! ;-)
