All Done

One more colorful quilt for my lifetime quilt list.  I'll be in great shape next spring when I'm ready to change the look of my home from fall and winter colors to spring and summer colors.

I'm still calling this hst, it surely does need a better name.

This is Lifetime Quilt Number 115
It finished at approximately 60" x 60"
The majority of the fabric is Happy Go Lucky by Bonnie and Camille.
There's no formal pattern, it just came together as I went along.
It has approximately 1,168 pieces.
The HSTs finish at two inches.

Well I'm done working with bright and happy colors for now.  I've got a couple of friends going to town on a quilt called "Autumn in my Garden" a pattern by the gals at the Buggy Barn, I plan to sew along with them.  The colors are more fall colors, but still bright and I'm eager to get to them.

  5. Thelma, this quilt has such a dramatic look. The color placement gives the impression of looking through one of those block windows from years ago. Look at the 9th picture on this site -

  8. This is really pretty, I can't even imagine how long all those HST's took to put together. I'll be finishing the top of a quilt today that had almost 500 HST that finished at 2" and it hasn't been lots of fun, but the are beautiful! Thanks for sharing! -simplescrapperquilts

  10. Very cheerful and I like how you kept the colors together in each block. For name, how about HST Sanity or HSY Insantiy, depending on how you feel about making that many HSTs.

  13. Love the fresh look of this quilt but as a Canadian, I couldn't abide the HST name and I'll explain. We have a value added tax here in Canada that has always been controversial. To make it more palatable some provinces blended that tax (known as the GST) with their own provincial sales tax, making it a higher tax called the HST. Clear as mud right? Like we would like it any better? So, pardon me if HST is like a d*rty word. Still a very beautiful quilt by any name!

  14. I like the name "Shimmer" because the colors move from bright to light.

    It's lovely and fun!

  15. I'm loving this one. A good way to make a quilt and not have to purchase anything. Would be great in oranges/browns for fall and green/red for Christmas, or.......

  18. Wow...you did a fabulous job! I can't imagen dealing with those small HST's! But it is gorgeous! For a name, why not choose something from what you said, in it being a great way to change your home from winter to spring...maybe "Welcome Back Spring" or something like that. Good job!

  19. When I see your gorgeous quilt I think of "Shades of Color." Can't wait go see the fall one you are going to start.

  20. I was thinking "Fruit Boxes" because of the colors lined up like when they pack apples, oranges and pears in those boxes in neat little rows.
